I bought my OnePlus 7T Pro in July 2019 and have never enjoyed a phone more than it. The truth is that other phones are doing a similar or better job, but the elegance of the OnePlus 7T Pro hooked me up.
Before I get into composing a love letter, let me start by giving out some of this phone's technical specifications:
- RAM: 12Gb.
- CPU: Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 855 Plus
- Screen: 90 Hz
- Battery: 4085 mAh Battery with Wrap charge (fast charge).
- Camera: 48 MP Ultra-wide triple camera.
- Available Ports: USB 3.1 GEN1, Type-C, Support standard Type-C earphones.
- SIM: Dual nano-SIM slot.
- Broadband and networking: LTE/LTE-A, Bluetooth, NFC, etc.
With that out of the way, let's break down why I love this phone and the things I wish it had.
Everyday use
Like many professionals, my phone is my assistant. I can't afford to have it slow down or break down in a middle of a meeting. I have configured it to ensure I can run a full day or work without my computer if it breaks down(I have had to do it a couple of times).
It can handle having a lot of apps open at the same time and context switching:
On one side, I have the typical Whatsapp, Instagram, Reddit, and browsers. I also have business applications like Slack, Google docs, Google Drive, Zoom, etc.
I switch between these apps, jump on video calls, write a document on Google Docs thanks to the big screen, and open side by side.
I also play games occasionally, from simple casual games like TV Empire Management or Game Dev Tycoon to hardcore games like PUBG or 3D intensive like Sky: children of the light. They all run smoothly, with no hiccups.
And that's what I like about this phone; I rarely need a better phone.
Camera
Let's be honest; the one plus doesn't have the best camera. It can't compete with an iPhone 12.
Though I think that not everyone needs a great camera like an iPhone because you shouldn't pay extra cash if you don't use the camera.
If you use the camera to document your life, the OnePlus 7T Pro will be perfect. Apple is advertising Hollywood-level quality. Not everyone needs that.

Battery Life
Not much to say here; my phone takes me from morning to evening on a typical day, and I have to charge it at night. If I spend a lot of time playing games or watching videos all day, I must recharge it in the afternoon.
Issues I have encountered
Let's talk about the wrong side of the OnePlus 7T Pro.
- The phone camera ruins people's faces at night.
- Although it has been highly performant almost every day, I have had maybe five slowing-down occurrences for a couple of hours. That's a 0.6% error rate. Not bad, huh?
- Now and then, the curved screen is annoying.
Conclusion
The OnePlus 7T pro is a competent phone. I will probably continue to use mine for another year. I have looked at the phones released lately, and I don't see any that make me want to buy them.
Fortunately, the OnePlus 7T Pro is not rare on the market, don't hesitate to follow this link and get yourself one. If you want to buy newer versions of this phone, you can get the OnePlus 8T.
If you are looking for a cheaper version, you can get the OnePlus Nord.
